7 of My Favorite Witchy Podcasts

orange-headphones

One of my favorite ways to learn more about new types of magic and mysticism is through podcasts. Not only do I get a cauldron full of knowledge and expertise from incredible witches and their guests but I get to spend an afternoon feeling inspired and energized to do more magic.

It was honestly incredibly hard for me to cut down my list of witchy podcasts because there are so many good ones out there. I will likely have to make a follow up post to include more. I ended up picking this set of podcasts because they were some of the first podcasts that I started listening to when I started taking my practice more seriously. I hope you enjoy some of these podcasts as much as I have!

1. The Woke Mystix

If you want some woke magic then this is the podcast for you! Hosts Ellen and Imani go through every type of magic and healing modality there is and always through a critical lens of diversity and inclusion. If you’re looking to decolonize your magic then you should really check out their podcast.

Listen to The Woke Mystix on Spotify. Creating a safe space on the discussion of spirituality, magic, self care, and divinity from the perspective of two non-conforming women of color. Follow us on instagram for more insightful information, upcoming events, workshops and original memes @thewokemystix

2. When God Was Queer

There isn’t a better person to learn from on how LGBTQIA+ identities are reflected in magic, history, myths, and legends than Dakota St. Clare. There is so much rich information and knowledge that Dakota throws at you that you’ll have to work to keep up but it will be worth it. I usually go down an internet search rabbit hole after each episode because there is just so much to know!

Listen to When God Was Queer on Spotify. A weekly podcast in which host Dakota St. Clare shares various legends, lore and myths which function as divine reflections of LGBTQIA+ identities and experiences. Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/whengodwasqueer/support

3. Elder Hour

As a green witch this is a wonderful podcast where the hosts Chelsea Selby (of Witch Baby Soap) and Juliet Diaz (author of Embrace the Witch Within) talk about the magic of plants one plant at a time.

Listen to Elder Hour on Spotify. Elder Hour is a podcast born out of Chelsea Selby and Juliet Diaz's love of plant magic. Juliet - a bestselling author and respected seer and healer and Chelsea owner of an international occult beauty brand dissect the history, magical properties, and science behind a new plant every week.

4. The Mystic and the Hag

This is a podcast for all magical practicioners hosted by Danielle (of Little Reader Tarot) and Lia (of CRUCIFIXVI) where they talk about different witch modalities, myths and magical occurrences, and special witchy guests. In this podcast you get an amouse-bouche of witchy content with really funny banter. They are currently on hiatus but am hoping they come back in 2021!

5. The Witch Wave

The Witch Wave podcast is a great resource if you’re just getting started with your practice and are looking to learn about all of the different witchy things out in the world. Host Pam Grossman always has incredible guests that I instantly fall in love with and always want to learn more about.

Listen to The Witch Wave on Spotify. The Witch Wave is a podcast for bewitching conversation about magic, creativity, and culture. On each episode, host Pam Grossman speaks with a leading visionary about art and Craft.

6. Fat Feminist Witch

I mean the name really says it all. You get body positivity, feminism, and witchery! What more could you really ask for in a podcast? Paige is kind and genuine in every single one of her episodes and I find her content incredibly heart warming.

Listen to The Fat Feminist Witch on Spotify. The podcast where we do a little ranting, raving, and wand waving! We'll be examining witchcraft and spirituality from a modern, fat, feminist perspective; with a cauldron full of sass.

7. Tu Tía La Bruja

Last but certainly not least, we have Tu Tía La Bruja. Bex Carlos is the tía you wish you had during your witch awakening, because the tía you do have keeps asking “¿y el novio?” Bex talks about everything related to brujeria, ghosts, and mysticism and even addresses some of the harder topics like cultural appropriation and why you shouldn’t use white sage, and she does it with an incredible sense of calm and poise.

Bonus: Let’s Talk About Myths, Baby!

Now this one is not really a witchy podcast but if you’re looking to learn more about Greek deities then I highly recommend Let’s Talk About Myths, Baby! Liv has a great sense of humor which really comes through in her retelling of these classic Greek myths.

Listen to Let's Talk About Myths, Baby! A Greek & Roman Mythology Podcast on Spotify. The most entertaining and enraging stories from mythology told casually, contemporarily, and (let's be honest) sarcastically. Greek and Roman gods did some pretty weird (and awful) things.
